The Marching Worlds

After the creation of the mosaic of 100 m ² - The Meeting of the Moon and the Sun - at the foot of the Balzac Estate towers - Federica Matta was invited by the town hall and the Office Public de l'Habitat (Public Office of the Housing environment) of Vitry-sur-Seine to create a wall of 22 x 11 meters to replace the former mosaic which was destroyed during the renovation of this district...

September 5th, 2012, day of the inauguration of the fresco "The Marching Worlds", took place the demolition of the last big tower of the Balzac Estate. For this occasion, the inhabitants of the Estate as well as the elected representatives of the city and the different bodies responsible gathered around this landmark. Children and adults were able to participate in the activities proposed in a festive spirit and turn the corner on an immense part of their life.

A few hours later, everybody went at the soccer stadium of Vitry-sur-Seine to witness the demolition of the tower GHJ...
Early in the afternoon, came the time to unveil the fresco " The Marching Worlds" dedicated to the inhabitants of the Balzac Estate. On tunes of classical music, the wall was revealed in the presence of the mayor of Vitry-sur-Seine as well as the various representatives in charge of this unusual event...
